Dr. Lawrence Chen
Meet Dr. Chen
For as long as I can remember, my greatest joy has been making people smile and laugh. Dentistry has given me the opportunity to do just that. I continue to find ways to carry out this passion in and out of the beloved reclining chair. In addition, I love to teach as much as I love to learn. Patient education remains a valuable part of my practice philosophy. I aim to give my patients the tools to maintain their health independently between their dental visits. Knowledge is power!
I look forward to working with each and every patient and together, we can achieve the goals set forth.
Education and Experience
I graduated from the University of the Pacific in San Francisco, California in 2017. Soon after, I moved to New York City with a diploma in hand. Here, I have continued to gain experience across all disciplines of dentistry. I remain an avid student of the profession and continue to take courses to adopt new techniques and materials.
In the Community
In my little time outside of the office, I try to volunteer in the under served community, a reflection of the 250+ hours I have put in as a proud leader of my dental school’s community outreach program. For several years, I have worked with patients with special needs. I hope to continue that work with these wonderful members in the community.

Outside of the Office
Born and raised in coastal Southern California, I have grown accustomed to two seasons: sun and rain. I came to New York City singing Frank Sinatra’s words “If I can make it there, I’ll make it anywhere“. I love the high energy and rich diversity that the city brings everyday. In my spare time, I enjoy traveling the world near and far, finding myself in nature, cheering on LA sports teams (in both good and bad times), volunteering, writing, and of course, always learning about how I can improve as a dentist!
